சங்கம் மீட்போம் - குமார்

அரசுப் பணித்துறையில் பல்லாண்டு அனுபவம் மிக்க திரு குமார், தில்லியில் சுமார் 40 ஆண்டுகளாக தமிழர்களின் சமூக நடவடிக்கைகளில் பங்கெடுத்து வருகிறார்.

தமிழ்நாட்டின் உதகமண்டலத்தில் வளர்ந்த இவர், சென்னைப் பல்கலைக் கழகத்தில் படிப்பை முடித்து, தமிழ்நாடு வருவாய்த் துறையில் பணியில் சேர்ந்தார். பிறகு மைய அரசின் பாதுகாப்புத் துறையில் நியமனம் பெற்று 1975இல் தில்லிக்கு வந்தார்.

தமிழில் தீராத ஆர்வமும் ஞானமும் கொண்டதால், தில்லித் தமிழ்ப் பண்பாட்டுக் கழகம் என்னும் அமைப்பை நிறுவினார். எண்பதுகளில் இந்த இயக்கத்தின் தலைவராகவும் செயலராகவும் பொறுப்புகள் வகித்தார்.

தகவல் தொடர்புகள் இன்றுபோல இல்லாத அந்தக் காலத்தில் தமிழ்நாட்டில் குடும்பங்களை விட்டு பல்லாயிரம் கிமீ தொலைவில் தில்லிக்கு வந்த தமிழ் இளைஞர்களுக்கு பண்பாட்டுக் கழகம் அடைக்கல இல்லமாகத் திகழ்ந்த்து. அவர்களின் ஈடுபாட்டோடு தில்லித் தமிழ்க் கல்விக் கழகப் பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் மத்தியில் தமிழ் மொழி மற்றும் பண்பாட்டை முன்னெடுத்தார்.

இவரது தமிழார்வம் காரணமாக, வானொலி மற்றும் தொலைக்காட்சியில் ஏராளமான நிகழ்ச்சிகளை தமிழாக்கம் செய்தார், குரல் கொடுக்கும் கலைஞராகவும் திகழ்ந்தார். அனைத்திந்திய வானொலியின் தெற்காசிய சேவை ஒலிபரப்பில் ஏராளமான நிகழ்ச்சிகளை வழங்கியிருக்கிறார்.

1999 முதல் தன் பணித்துறையை மாற்றிக்கொண்டு, நிர்வாகப் பயிற்சியின் பக்கம் கவனம் செலுத்த்த் துவங்கினார். மைய அரசின் பணியாளர் பயிற்சித் துறையின் கீழ் வரும் செயலகப் பயிற்சி மற்றும் மேலாண்மை நிறுவனத்தின் பயிற்சியாளர் ஆனார். மைய அரசின் உயர் அதிகாரிகளுக்குப் பயிற்சி அளித்தார். அப்பணியின் அங்கமாக, உயர் அதிகாரிகளுடன் பணிமுறையாக பிலிப்பைன்ஸ், தாய்லாந்து, இந்தோனேசியா, சிங்கப்பூர், ஐரோப்பிய நாடுகளாக யு.கே. ஸ்லோவேனியா, பிரான்ஸ், ஆஸ்திரியா உள்ளிட்ட பல நாடுகளுக்குப் பயணம் செய்திருக்கிறார்.

இப்போது நிர்வாகப் பயிற்சி அளித்தல், சுய முன்னேற்ற உரைகள் நிகழ்த்துகள் போன்ற பணிகளில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளார். மறுவாழ்வு தரப்பட வேண்டிய சிறைக் கைதிகளுக்கும் முன்னேற்றப் பயிற்சி வழங்குகிறார். சட்டக்கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள், தில்லி மாநில சட்ட உதவித் துறையின் ஆதரவுடன் தன்னார்வ நிறுவனங்கள் ஆகியவற்றுக்கும் இலவசமாக பயிற்சி வகுப்புகள் நடத்துகிறார்.

தமிழில் புலமை, இலக்கிய ஆர்வம், மொழியாக்கத் திறன், நிர்வாக வல்லமை என பல துறைகளிலும் சிறந்து விளங்கும் இவரே தில்லித் தமிழ்ச் சங்கத்தின் துணைத் தலைவர் பொறுப்புக்குப் பொருத்தமானவர்.

Shri KS Kumar, who is a former civil servant has been associated with the social activities of the Tamils in Delhi for more than a few decades.

Having been brought up and graduated from Udhagamandalam from Madras University and after serving in the Revenue Dept, Nilgris District, he joined the Central Govt in the year 1975 in Ministry of Defence.

His immense knowledge and interest in Tamil led to him being a founder member of Delhi Tamil Cultural Association in the late seventies and early eighties. Later he served as the Secretary as well as President of DTCA.

Apart from serving as a forum for interaction amongst the young Tamils who leaving their families back in Tamil Nadu, had made Delhi their home - he as part of DTCA was an integral part of the efforts in fostering the Tamil language and culture amongst the students of Delhi Tamil Education Association (DTEA). 

Meanwhile he his immense interest in Tamil led him to another role wherein he  translated innumerable radio and TV programs to Tamil and also gave voice to the characters therein whereby his voice came to be heard all over the country. He has also written and broadcast a number of programs in the South East Asia Tamil  service of All India Radio.  

He then diversified into training in the year 1999 and ever since has been a full time trainer.  As a faculty member as well as HOD,  ISTM in  DoPT, he has not only trained innumerable civil servants, but also led groups of senior central Govt officials on study visits to number of countries in South East Asia like Philippines, Thailand,  Indonesia & Singapore as well as Europe like Slovenia, United Kingdom, France, Austria and Italy.

He is still a freelance trainer and also delivers motivational talks to prisoners who are to be rehabilitated, law students in various colleges as well as para legal volunteers in NGOs under the aegis of Delhi State Legal  Services Authority (DSLSA ) as part of his social responsibility.

A capable administrator with a keen interest in Tamil language, literature and culture.
